Cif Bylaws 600-605
Cif bylaws 600-605 is pretty explicit. EDIT: and not to mention I think the type you mention explicitly refers to the modem. Pretty sure the router/modem is covered by the firmware model number you choose (afaik)
Right, that's fine. But the 600-605 doesn't stipulate that you must keep all existing physical equipment at the property. The equipment already belongs to the tenant. If I give my router to a friend in another location, does that mean I now have to get permission each time I want to extend that modem's reach on my own property?
No, you just buy your own router. I dont know what model your modem is, but I know a few modems dont even come with a modem you have to buy. If your roommate comes up with a solution to the problem, that might be a good solution to get from them. But really having his modem at a different location shouldnt be considered a problem.
Thanks. That sounds like a fair solution. Hopefully that my friend can throw their own modem in place of their current one. When I say I am not building an own wireless network, I really am not. I'm just suggesting that they leave that there as it is and share my home's existing network.
So you are sharing the same wireless network for clients that are on your network, but you dont want to share the network for clients that are not on your network? There's no point in it. You two should be on separate networks.
