40 000 Swiss Francs To Dollars

40 000 swiss francs to dollars is about right for the value of each coin that we need to generate to get a billion coins

I personally think we need around 50 million to ensure that this is a success. The world will eventually catch on that Bitcoin is here to stay, and we need every Satoshi to avoid risking our investment. I think we could receive closer to 3500ish around this time next year.

Perhaps this can be done with incentive-based mechanism? I.e. providing a smaller amount of coins that would be available on the market if people invested directly rather than using crowdfunding, and people who do that are incentivised by receiving a larger portion of people who do the crowdfunding thing. The fewer coins we have in circulation, the higher the price will be - right?

A far fetched scheme. I don't believe it would ever be allowed. The risk of thousands on other peoples coins is high IMO.

That's a good point. In fact, we'd have to set a minimum market cap for the coins, and that price should be determined by the users, to some degree. But that probably has a risk of breaking the concept of "free" market.

I don't think bitcoin is about the "free" market as much as it's about capitalism.

Exactly, I think it's really far fetched to think that people would voluntarily limit their spending due to their wealth.

Exactly. All the other con artists "practice restraint" by consuming the world's resources. How is this any different?

Except they're also using assets that are being traded in, exchanged for real assets, and have already been taxed at the source of creation.

Except Bitcoins, not hard assets, aren't assets.

All trading is about asset value, don't spread misinformation. They're money, not commodities.
