Cif Bylaws 600-605
Cif bylaws 600-605 specifically outline a night shift. Does this mean all night employees will get shortening?
I doubt it. 6006 provides that the employer is exempt from the CIB if the shift would still take place over a 48-hour period or less. 6007 makes it clear that employers are only exempt if the employees work 10 or more hours in a day. For a shitty night shift, they'd probably still employ them under CIB.
thats what CIBs for. If you want an exact rule, call the CIB office. Bylaws always change though. Maybe a lot? probably not but there is always some new stuff.
A shitty night shift would be about 10 hours, right? I doubt the overtime that's in a contract between the company and employee would be counted as working an extended night. But it could be argued that, because the employee is dealing one-on-one with a lot of customers, or because they're being supervised.
depending on the shift and the employer, not sure, thats why the answer is in the CIB.
