Baylen Levine 4 Million Merch
Baylen levine 4 million merch in 2017 wasn’t it? Last year Lebron’s merch made over 10 mil but had a huge drop in merch sales compared to 2017.
I read somewhere that the only reason they didn't release his merch stats is because Nike doesn't count it in the raw player numbers that are made public. But then I can't find the source.
That’s stupid. Top prospects produce and sell big time. Why would Nike not keep up with that type of performance? If anything, the opposite should be true - the more prospects wearing Nike the better for them.
> That’s stupid. Why, it makes a lot of sense. How do you think Nike knows who to sign, who to sign, etc. They are relying in part on performance in the market. Also, it keeps this from being a black box. It's actually a pretty smart system, if I had to guess.
That's what I mean. Are people selling more of Braun's stuff even though he's not in the league?
No, everyone sells less. In fact he only sold like 30K shoes. A lot fewer than what they would have sold if he got to the NFL.
Doesn't everybody sell less?
If you mean the general population, maybe. But from a sports revenue perspective, he's got the most exposure. I think all you'd really find is a very small uptick. Probably just an increase across the board of all the Nike guys you never had heard about.
